Add a testing focus

Use this guide to ask AI Studio to add responsive, accessibility, or performance checks to a web run.

A testing focus is a specialist lane you opt into before a run. The control appears in the input toolbar for the Web platform. Lanes run after the main web run, each producing its own compact result card.

1. Open the testing focus

In the chat composer, click the Testing focus pill (the target icon). A drawer opens listing the available lanes. The pill shows a count badge once one or more lanes are selected.

2. The lanes

LaneWhat it checksOutput
ResponsiveThe page across multiple device viewports.Per-viewport progress, screenshots, and a live mirror in the right pane.
AccessibilityAutomated accessibility conformance. An accessibility report you can expand into a recordable result.
PerformanceCore Web Vitals plus network metrics.A performance verdict; network metrics arrive after the page closes.

3. Choosing lanes

  1. Open the Testing focus drawer.
  2. Tick the lane(s) you want. The pill badge shows how many are active.
  3. (Responsive) pick device viewports, or leave it empty to run all workspace devices.
  4. Write your goal and send as usual.

Choose before the run:

Performance reuses a network trace that the browser can only arm when the page context is created — so a lane chosen mid-run can't enable it. Opt in before you send.

Org gate:

Specialist lanes are available only when your organization has enabled specialized testing. If the pill isn't showing, ask your admin to enable it; otherwise accessibility runs by default.

4. Reading the result

Each finished lane appears as a card in the chat:

  • Responsive: progress per viewport + screenshots, and a results card.
  • Accessibility: a compact card that expands to the full report.
  • Performance: a Core Web Vitals verdict, with network metrics arriving slightly later (the browser only exposes a full network trace at teardown).
